Hi all...thought I would start this thread as many of you don't watch the reality shows or don't like reality shows...but even if you do, what are your favourite TV programs. I have to say I do watch a couple of soaps, but my favourite programs are usually documentaries on other things, but mainly Egypt...I also like to watch Forensic Detectives or anything that I know is fact, which are usually on the National geographic/ civilization channels...and of course Man-utd..so that's just some of the things I like to watch...and occasionally a good movie. I hope you will all be able to contribute to this? Many thanks. Lin

Hi Lin, You've done well again Lin starting this thread. My favourite programs are usually factual ones but I do like a bit of rubbish, occasionally. I've stopped watching EastEnders because some of the actors need to get back to RADA (or maybe they were never there in the first place). I watch Coronation Street, mainly for the humour (it's brilliant) but wish they'd get rid of Les as his acting leaves a lot to be desired. Chesney gives him a run for his money when it comes to stealing the show. My favourites are OF COURSE Judge John Deed and any courtroom programs or Forensic programs and the recent CRIME progs on ITV where they revisit old crimes. Not forgetting my all time favourtie - CRIMEWATCH because I always hope one day I will see someone I know so that I can ring that number to report it.

HI LISA...I STILL WATCH EASTENDERS BUT IT'S GONE DOWN HILL A BIT LATELY....CORONATION STREET IS A MUST, IT IS HILARIOUS AT TIMES..LES AND CILLA DO MY HEAD IN..YOU'RE RIGHT ABOUT CHESNEY, HE'S A BRILLIANT LITTLE ACTOR. DO YOU EVER WATCH ANY OF THE TIME TEAM PROGRAMS? I USED TO ALWAYS WATCH THEM BUT I THINK THEY'RE MORE OR LESS THE SAME NOW, MUCH PREFER TO WATCH A DECENT DIG ON NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC WHERE THEY DO GET SOME REAL FINDS...I LIKE ALL THE CRIME PROGRAMS, ANYTHING TO DO WITH FORENSICS, GENES, DNA ETC.

I like any Linda La Plante stories. One that we are awaiting the next series is Life on Mars, CSI and NCIS if there is nothing else on, I prefer British made drama, I think we do it so much better than the Yanks. Like Harry Hill's TV Burp, I would watch more comedy but Eileen doesn't care for most of it. The soaps are of no interest to me, the plots are too stupid, too much sex for a prog before 9pm acting abysmal and in Eastenders in particular it seems that each line is delivered with a sneer, nearly as bad as Clive Hornby (Jack Sugden in Enemadale) sighing after every sentence. Like factual and documentary, Time Teams a good'un. I think that ITV viewing has deteriorated lately, maybe Micheal Grade will lift it.

I THINK TV IN GENERAL HAS GONE DOWN HILL PRETTY FAST, SEEMS TO BE NOTHING MUCH OTHER THAN REPEATS ON...I USED TO PREFER DAVE ALLEN SITTING IN HIS CHAIR TALKING ABOUT ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING, AND BOY WAS HERE SO NEAR THE TRUTH...ALSO LIKE BILLY CONNOLLY AS WELL..DO YOU REMEMBER YOOTHA JOYCE ( NOT SURE HOW YOU SPELL THAT) BUT I LOVED HER, SHE WAS SO DRY.

Lin, another favourite of mine is LOOSE WOMEN. Have missed it last few days but had time to tune into it today and was thrilled to see it being hosted by Carol Malone - she is a natural!! I was laughing throughout most of the programme.

Hi Lin, It was very cold at the weekend when I went for my long walk up the hills in Lyme Park. As we were climbing to the top we noticed that we were the only ones there apart from one jogger. Usually its full of people out for a walk. The wind was tremendous walking uphill, not so bad coming down!! We thought it was so cold that it was going to snow that night and I think parts of the Pennines did have snow. So, YES, it is cold here. Hi Lisa...we had those winds a week or two ago, some reached a 100 miles per hour in some places, it did turn a bit volder but not that much really...we have been really lucky considering how many places had snow, we missed it thankfully, I hate the stuff. Just been listening to the weather forecast and it's getting warmer, warmest January on record, also we are supposed to be having a heatwave again this summer, and another drought situation...can you believe that after all the rain we've had?

Lin, I'd like to add "Blind Justice" to my list of favourite programmes. It's only showing on Skys FX channel at the moment but I would recommend it to anyone. It's about a detective who's involved in a shoot out and he takes a bullet to the head. The incident leaves him blind. He's a married man and he'd been having an affair leading up to the incident. His wife not only has to cope with him being blind and self pitying but with the knowledge that he cheated on her. He does the classic and accuses HER of wanting to go off with HER boss (typical). Anyway, he is determined to go back to his job as a detective and his senses are heightened, making him a good team member. The other detectives in the office make life hard for him though and it's great watching him, week by week, cracking cases wide open while creating even more friction with seeing eye but not seeing all detectives!! Gripping stuff HEH! HEH!

Did anyone else watch the serial FIVE DAYS - shown recently on BBC1? I had taped all five episodes and watched them over a two-day period. To say it was hard to follow may make me look a bit of a fool but, thankfully, I'm not alone as my hubby found it hard going in places too. I didn't fully understand the ending either - what was the husband's best friend's involvement? I must have blinked and missed a few things?

I am enjoying "Bonkers" Thursdays at 9pm on ITV1 at the moment. I love Liza Tarbuck anyway but she really has me laughing until tears run down my cheeks in this particular sitcom. Long may it run for...!
Waterloo Road on Thursdays at 8pm on BBC1 - missed this series in the past but began watching it this time round. Hope schools aren't really run like this but am enjoying the storylines (for now).
Wild At Heart - Sunday's at 8pm on ITV1 - what a fantastic series about life for a couple and their children in Africa. They are running a vetinary service plus trying to earn a living by taking in holidaymakers and running safari expeditions. I missed the first series but am thoroughly enjoying the second one and I am hooked...!

I have just been watching the programme "Gene Dectectives" for the past 3 weeks, am now hooked on it. I find it very interesting as I am into this geneaology. Its on around 9.a.m. to 9.30a.m. a bit early for some TV viewers. I also enjoy Hill Street Blues, NCIS, Law & Order, CSI Miama, Planet Earth series, Coronation Street, and another I have to watch on Living TV on NTL is the American John Edward (physic medium) he is uncanny, my husband walks out of the room when I am watching him, I don't think he believes in anything spiritual, but I do. I know there are charlatons out there but he cant know all about the people he brings messages to. I am surprised at my husband being a cynic, because he has been with me when I have experienced "unexplained things". After my experiences I keep an open mind. I dont like the programme "Most Haunted" as I think it is very false. Bring back "Taxi" Danny de Vito at his best. I also enjoy the morning programmes, Homes under the Hammer, buying house at auction and refurbishing them. Bargain Hunt - great, and Cash in the Attic. Who says I watch too much YV ;D marie.

T.V. programs , Well the best of the lot for me has to be "Shameless" it rearly is funny then probably the next will be" Green Wing" but for serious stuff I think" Wakeing the Dead" then for reality it was The Soprano's , that rearly was the business of course match of the day with United playing would eclipse everything, but I do like SkySports News as well
