Morning Jack, Looks like its going to be another lovely day here in Manchester. A chance to get into the garden and see what damage the wet weather has done. My Geraniums and Begonias are still coming into flower....shame to cut them down. I might keep an eye on the forecasts to see if the frosts are coming. I'm not ready for Christmas....I never am. The Christmas cakes are made and maturing nicely.....just need feeding now with some brandy. Dont need to buy as many presents this year as a lot of my friends have died recently.....a sign of the times of my age, I'm afraid. I'm praying we dont have a severe winter again this year like the last two. I have to clear a large patch on the lawn and go out three times a day to feed my feathered friends when snow falls. Stay healthy Jack.

My log into the Manchesteronline web site states the people living in Manchester and Greater will
be requiring waterproof protection for the next few days...nothing new!!!Our local newspaper
carries world temperatures and forecasts...for UK London is the only city covered..rain...not much
difference for the rest of the country.I guess rain is better than frost and snow
Stay warm and healthy everyone!!!!!!!

In my younger days Manchester was always famous for it's rain. However, whether it is old age or not, I remember the warm sunny summer days where we played out on the street. Innocent days, and innocent pleasures with the sun shining. Of course there were rainy days, but unless you live in much sunnier southern climes, there is always rain. If it wasn't for the rain there would be no green grass or flowers in the gardens and parks. We would have arid deserts instead, with no water to drink. Let's here it for the rain!!!!

Hear, hear for the rain. Without the rain Manchester girls wouldnt have the best complexion in the world When I was a teenager living in Manchester, part of a girl's wardrobe was an umbrella. Luckily for me, my mother worked in an umbrella factory so I got to have a different colour and style of umbrella with every outfit.

Morning Jack from a very hot Manchester. Next week, hopefully, the hot weather will cool down. Its just too hot to do any serious work in the garden for me so I have to find the shady spots and work in them until it cools down later in the day. If I go in the garden later on, the mosquitoes get to me even if I put Lavender Essential Oil on them. I'd love to be able to sit out there all evening. I sometimes burn some Citronella near me and that keeps them at bay because I cant put it on my skin. Glad you enjoyed the golf Jack.

Good Morning Lisa
According to Manchesteronline (MEN) the forecast for the next three days will be a little cooler
but still warm for this time of the year...We here are having a much warmer end of May in fact
most of the US is with some places having record days so we know how it is trying to work in
the garden.Looking forward to watching the golf (in an hour or so) from sunny Wentworth
in Surrey..........try to stay cool!!

dear jack the weather today has been very overcast in manchester , without raining, quite warmish without a coat on , towards the evening rain moved in and what you'd call drizzle but not keeping anybody inside, tomorrow promises much the same , may be dry for the street parties.

My daughter was here visiting from London and we had to stay in on Sunday because of the weather. I dont know how all those brave people in London managed to stay for the Pageant, which was wonderful to watch in the comfort of your own home but must have been dreadful to sit through all that rain. No wonder Prince Philip was admitted to hospital the next day - poor thing. The following day was totally different and we spent the day in Blackpool which was living up to its name as I have never seen so many Asian faces.....hardly any white people around. What is going on? My daughter asked me the question "Mum, what has happened to Blackpool?". Sadly I couldnt answer her. The life, soul and laughter seemed to have disappeared although Blackpool Council must have spent a fortune on cleaning up the promenade and the new trams were a delight.
