Noticed a pile of wrapped firewood outside our local Publix (grocery store) price 5.49 (over 3 pounds) content 4 pieces (split Log) 20in x 4in .........expensive..... just like burning pound, no five pound notes Fortunately we use gas fired logs when we have the fireplace in use.
Then everything is going Up Up Up!!!!!

Morning Jack, You'd make a fortune from collecting old wood from where I live. The wood behind me has lots of fallen branches rotting away which would make excellent firewood without having to kill any trees. Occasionally, I hear a loud bang and see a huge branch falling from a large tree.....nature at its best. Unfortunately, the people round here wouldnt consider using what nature provides to keep themselves warm. I am about to lose my old dead Eucalyptus tree from last year's harsh winter. I have asked the tree surgeon to save me the dead trunk so I can use it to make a haven for voles and hedgehogs by piling the wood against a wall where they can go in winter. If I had a fire, I would burn the wood, which would smell wonderful.
