Filled up at a petrol station today and the cashier was in a happy mood, it turns out that she is on holiday from tomorrow onwards and on return she is to be promoted to 'Supervisor' "well done" said I and made a remark re " a nice little pay raise I hope" "oh no " she said"I will be on the same pay rate as now" !!!, but as a supervisor she is to be held responsible for the work and actions of other employees, and also give instructions and/or orders to these employees, I have read in the past re employees stating via opinion polls that if they had to chose between a pay raise and a fancy new job title a big percent would chose the fancy title!. what would you chose?.

Yes she will probably get a badge with "Supervisor" on it. If she is especially good she may even get one with "Manager" on it. Her chest must be bursting with pride. As a former Passenger liasson and Transportation director, (Cabby), I can understand her pride. I shall have to finish this off later. I can hear the sound of the Ecological saving the planet redistribuition executives, (The midden men) outside, and I haven't put the bins out.

I would choose the "pay raise",,,the alternative would be offered at a later date....... "a bird in hand "
Long time since I heard "the Midden Men"

A Big Pay Rise every time. I've often learned that when employers decide to promote you it usually means longer hours, more responsbility, more problems and stress and less respect from the people above you so I would opt for more money every time.

Give me what I'm worth or I gotta go, a title isn't even relevant. Ever try depositing Pride in the bank? A title and 1 dollar gets you a cup of coffee most places. "feelings" are the lies the ego feeds us.
