Hi Jack from a very sunny and hot Manchester. The weather is going to change this weekend, so they say, so it looks like I'll need my rain umbrella instead of my sun umbrella (which I really needed in the garden yesterday). Never heard of a HummingbirdHawk in the Uk. Was it in Florida or the UK? Couldnt quite undestand whether you caught it with your camera or the tv camera caught it in Sandwich. Looks like young Lewis is going to take the trophy instead of the very talented McIlroy.....nice to see some young ones playing for a change and making an impression. Morning Jack, Yes the weather here has been terrible. I went for my newspaper yesterday morning wearing my wellies and umbrella so no chance of a stint in the garden. It carried on raining throughout the day and the sun only came out late in the afternoon. Looks like its going to be the same today.....I woke up to bright sunshine and its going rapidly downhill.

I didnt watch the golf Jack as I was busy gardening and going into my wood to pick blackberries. Didnt have much luck and only managed to collect a bowlful. Mother Nature must be telling me something because most of the berries had gone (eaten by birds etc.). Even though Sunday was dull and it did rain later in the day, we've had some lovely Autumnal days - warm during the day but cold at night. Lovely clear blue sky yesterday. I did see a whispering of frost on the grass yesterday. We've had a rotten wet summer and my flowers are only just at their best now so hope the frosts dont kill them off before their time. I expect you are enjoying warm weather over there? Hi Lisa....our weather just turned a little cooler in the mornings..middle eighties during the day...I must admit it is welcome as we can open the patio doors for fresh air (not been able since April) and happy to say the power bill will reduce a little,,,,My wife tells me when there are lots of berries on the bushes...a sign of cold and long winter..bird food!! You are so very fortunate living there in Heald Green along side the woods and being able to pick Blackberries...as a young boy I used to walk to Castle Mills( the River Bollin) where we would stop along the lanes to pick berries..now we pick them from the counter of the supermarket.. How times change

$RYDER CUP....what a remarkable achievement for the Europeans...I was so happy for the Brits who all played so well against all the 40000 crowd and the very biased TV announcers..I think the last putt of the day said it all!
