Hi Mick, It was a wonderful program and fascinating to see how they managed to identify nearly all of the men.....so sad to see their uniforms and boots though. I cannot imagine what it would have been like for those men to know they were dying and never going to see their loved ones again. I have to close my eyes every time I see the footage of the men going over the barbed wire.....talk about lambs to the slaughter. History is still repeating itself in Afghanistan, so we havent really learned much, have we?

fascinating program........shame that NO British bodies were identified. Even though they have great DNA profiles for a lot of the unidentified British bodies....But they need the descendants to provide DNA to be able to compare. And unfortunately it is so long ago that families now dont really know if thier relation was even in the war. Pity not everyone thinks like i do,,,that your family history is important, not because it is important to me...but that it may have some relevance in the future to someone,,and therefore should be recorded. And yes,,,we never learn,,,,,,hats off to our brave servicemen and women,,,but they should not be there.
