I Was so happy to hear that Gordon monastery has open again at last ;D i have been following with great interest how things have been going , it is one of my old schools went there between 1944/47 made my first holy communion there.Have lots of photos on my PC of the church inside and out, hoping they will be putting new ones on of the monastery has it is now all new,, have so many happy memories of the school and church and we love the brothers who were there at the time i was. Would love to hear from anyone who is interested in the monastery maureen

Hi Maureen I was brought up just facing the Moneste ry and all my friends went there I did with them but wasn't a cat lick To me it was/is the best church ever and I am so glad it is being restored.

HI Linda, Had to laugh when you said ( cat lick) knew that name very well. I had a friend who lived in the street behind the house's facing the monastery and would stop there every morning to meet up with her before going into school.. I have been reading all I can get my hands on about the monestery. , maureen,

I DID FIND THE WEBB FOR THE MONASTERY SHOP. AND AM WAITING FOR THE BOOKS ON THE HISTORY OF THE MONASTERY TO ARRIVE HERE

WOW Catherine luckily you i would love to go look round the monastery it holds lots of memories for me. i just received after waiting nearly a month some book;s from the monastery that i sent for. really good reading. was hoping to find some photo;s of my self in the whit walks has i was a maid of honour one year. lots of photo;s in there ,

Hi barbare. i lived in a street called POLLARD BUILDING. SOUND;S GRAND EH. But there was only about 4/5 house;s and we were facing the back of the brewer that use to be there with a little croft in front that we would play football or cricket on/ It was near two cinema;s The corona and a little shabby one called The savoy. just of Hyde rd. We would go to the CORONA on a sat-day morning than run to the SAVOY to just be in time to see the serial and only had to pay half
