any one remember the Manchester meter co. it used to be on Tipping St Ardwick, off Downing st, it is now part of the Mancunion Way going towardsAshton old road.I worked there from 1955 to 1958 part of the old building is still here. Names remembered,"Bill Finn, Johnny Young ,Brian Durston

hi,Olly, Yes the building next to Bond St is half of the original Water Meter building it was probably cut in half when the road was widened. Mosley Rubber Works was next door farther up Tipping St. The Water Meter Co was founded in 1861 by a family by the name of Frost. Harry Frost was still around in the mid fifties he used to come in now and again with his original Edwardian suit on with wing collar and narrow trousers on , Proper Teddy Boy
