Can anybody remember the name of the school of dance which was in the vicinity of the Regal Cinema between All Saints and Whitworth Street ?.

The school was called Rogers and Lamont. It was on the corner of Oxford Street and Hulme Street.

Sorry it's not Oxford Street it was on Oxford R O A D/Hulme Street.

Gosh i use to go to Rogers & Lamont i had forgot all about it. my mam/dad went for dancing lessons and came home one day and said they needed a girl to work in the cloakroom hahaha, ( NOT YOURS LISA) STOP IT,, So i took the job at weekends and got all my danceing lessons for free. has i also had to be a partner to some of the people that came in for lessons.

If i remember right they didn't pay us to much. thought they were doing us a favor giving dancing lesson free. but i did enjoy going and got my sliver medal for ballroom dancing but than stop going, was only interested in rock & roll in them days

them were the days Mo, rock & roll, you bought back some memories for me, we use to jive in the coal queque when it was freezing, ( warmed us up) waiting with the pram to get coal,.. i was so small & thin the lads use to throw me, ha ha cant do that now, ..i remember dancing at High st bathes when rock & roll came out , and the tempo changed & no one knew how to dance to it , i think the first song was The Blacksmith Blues , it was all Ballroom then so diffrent tempo... they dont jive now,

Yes maggs them were the days just loved my rock/roll Monday nights . wednesday nights . and good old saturday nights. saturdays night wAS the best all evening it was just rock/ and roll. Wow think it would kill me NOW hahaha
