DO ANY MEMBERS HAVE MEMORIES OF ST JUDES BETWEEN THE WARS? THIS SCHOOL WAS ATTENDED BY MY MOTHER AND HER BROTHER AND SISTERS. CAN SOMEONE CONFIRM THAT IT WAS AN ANGLICAN SCHOOL AND NOT CATHOLIC? ALSO WHEN AND WHY WAS IT CLOSED? IT IS NOT CLEAR FROM A WEB SEARCH.

HI PROF..........THIS IS AN EXTRACT OUT OF THE LINK BELOW I DID READ THAT IT WAS A C OF E SCHOOL. QUOTE/ 15 MANCHESTER SCHOOLS closed for the last time last Friday. They included Corpus Christi on Varley St Miles Platting, and St Judes in Ancoats. These two schools will come together to form Corpus Christi with St Anne, on the site of the present St Ann'e Primary in Ancoats. End of another era. www.manchesteronline.co.uk/ewm/newsletter/ewm329.html

THANK YOU OLLY AND CATHERINE FOR YOUR REPLIES. MY UNCLE LUIGI/LOUIS WAS THE YOUNGEST OF THE FAMILY AND LEFT ST JUDES IN 1937. HE MOVED TO AUSTRALIA IN 1947 AND DIED IN 2004. I AM IN CONTACT WITH HIS DAUGHTER AND SHE WOULD LOVE TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE SCHOOL.
