hi everyone,i found this site by accident ,i would like to intoduce me sen, my name is Stan Jones i lived in manchester most of my early years,went to smedley lane school, born in Cheethamhill,lived around the collyhurst area till they decided to pull our house down (could have let us get out first)moved to Wythenshawe,,got wed. set up my own business,got divorced. got wed agin.moved to Cheadle Hulme then Wilmslow and last house in the U.K was in prestbury.Left the U.K in 2003 and now live in Cyprus. Would love to hear from anybody that remembers me.

Hi Stan, Welcome to Manmates Message Board. I used to work in Cheetham Hill from 1961 to 1964 on the corner of Derby Street and Cheetham Hill Road. I worked as Secretary for a raincoat manufacturer....skated at the Silver Blades Ice Palace in Derby Street. I visited the area two years ago when we went to the Jewish Museum for a tour of the area and it was very interesting but it has changed a lot. I used to love buying cheese cake at the Jewish Bakery on Cheetham Hill Road....and I've never tasted cheesecake as good since then! Hope you enjoy the site.
