Hi....Longsight is not a good place to live...I was brought up in Longsight in the 50/60s and it was a good place...The area has now changed due to different ethnic values due to immigration.....I live in Vancouver now but visit many times a year..I will be visiting Longsight 26 Feb to see friends and of course they tell me about the area etc....I would not feel safe at night and it has become , sadly ..a violent place....Last week I came back after living in Mexico for a while and never once felt threatened there ..but Lonisight especially the Moss Side end is very sad and I fear for my old schoolmates elderly parents who tell me they are too afraid to go out............Ian..

Hi Roofingman, I cant comment on Longsight but I used to attend Board Meetings in the evenings in Moss Side and we often heard fighting, shouting, gun shots, screaming etc. outside the window and it wasnt very pleasant.....I was always nervous getting into the car afterwards and never felt safe until I'd left Princess Parkway. I also used to visit a member in Moss Side and I was always escorted back to the office, even in daylight.
