HI Steve. yep watched the programme on TV. in fact sure that was me riding on the llama, which I did quite often and the elephant too. Lived near Belle Vue so went in quite often. I got a lump in my throat to see all the old places, we sometimes went in through those iron gates that made a funny noise at Lake Entrance. I dont know if they were still there when you went there. I went to Belle Vue during the l940's and l950's, before your time Im sure. Fond memories, then I took my children there years after. I was also a keen "Belle Vue Aces" fan. I also enjoyed all the filming of the whit-walks very nostalgic - getting all your finery on for the special day. Aunties Uncles and grandparents used to put a shilling in your pocket if you visited them on Whit-week. They still have the Whit walks here in Heywood, but they dont have such a big turnout as years gone by.
Nice to see the old films though.
marie.

Sad to say I never got see Belle Vue when I was a child. I enjoyed the program , Stewart Hall is the perfect voice for it. Isnt it a shame that England had the lead on so many things such has Belle Vue but never expanded on it.
