Hi June, yes I remember the Italians walking, and they still do, they walked this year on Sunday June 29th, unfortunately it was raining, they still start off from St Michael's, and the church is opened on that day, It may be for refreshments after the walk, I have the book by Anthony Rea titled 'Manchester's Little Italy', it was sad about the church closing, also the closure of Corpus Christi, in Varley's Street, John Granelli in Clayton is a good friend of our family.
