Could the members who still live in the Manchester area please say if it is still usual for the traditional log end dart board to be used or have the pubs all changed to the London board?. The old log end was a much greater challenge. It was a nuisance having to soak it in water before the match.

Hi Prof, Some of our members will be able to answer your question but they have just logged off for a night at the pub. Keep checking the posts and you will get your reply as they are a mine of information here on the Chatline.

I think its general to say that most of the mens dart teams play on the Manchester board or log end as some prefer to call it , and most of the women play on what we used to call the "London Board" .... This is not always the practise ,but from my observations in pubs ,where I have been known to visit occasionally frequent ,,,,,, it is pretty standard . This is by no means a reflection of the standard of play separating the men from the boys ,ooops sorry the women
