Hi Migky,
If there are photos you want please let me know and I will see what I can do. As most of the photos on the site, especially the school ones, do not belong to me, but are property of the owners and some may be copyrighted. So I am not at liberty to just let them be available to upload. They were given freely as were the names.
In saying that, most contributors will not mind you having a copy I just have to ask first. Also, some of the very small photos are the actual size as sent, so making them bigger can distort the images. However, you can enlarge them on site by using your Windows Picture and Fax Viewer or whatever operated system tool you use.
This site is for the benefit of all who visit it and especially for Mancunians the world over. It is also and non profit making site and was built and is run as a hobby in my free time for no payment. Also, Lisa R who moderates on the Chartboard does this for no payment, also in her own free time.
So the point is that everyone has given their contributions, in the spirit of things, for the benefit of all, as you have also, in the past, and not to necessarily receive something back. I am sure all the members would be happy to see your school photo with the added names should you feel willing to send it in.
Regards,
Alan webmaster

Hi Migky, Have you looked on www.images.manchester.gov.uk website? There are photos on there of Seymour Road School and possibly the others. Some friends who I was reunited with and myself visited Seymour Road school in 2005 and were given access to the archives that they kept of the registers, punishment books and school photos. What an eye-opener and great to have a look at the inside of the school - it hadnt changed!!! I am considering doing a reunion before they pull it down. MCC in their wisdom are demolishing the school to make way for the modern monstosity........

Hi Migky, When we visited the school in 2005 we were told by the teacher (Ruth Bevans nee Webster) that MCC in its wisdom were going to pull the school down. She very kindly got out all the photos, registers, punishment books etc. which were all mixed up in boxes and stored in the Staff Room. We spent about two hours rummaging through it all. Dont know what will happen to it all when the school closes as the Archives Department at Central Library didnt have any knowledge of the school's existence when I first made enquiries. It was only when I telephoned the school (0161 370 2616) to make an appointment to visit that I found out where all the archives were. Ruth is an ex-pupil of the Girls' school so she may be able to help you with your search. I've just telephoned the school who informed me that they have no more news yet about it being demolished, so maybe MCC have thought better about it. I do hope to do a reunion Migky some time in the future when I have more time and I will keep you posted.

Hi Migky,
Give me a chance to reply. You only sent the email yesterday and you are not the only one I get emails from. Also, I have other things to do apart from the time this website takes up.
Before that I was trying to process the photo you sent previously, before I realised that it was already on the site. It is things like this that are time consuming and prevents me from repyling to emails quicker.
I had actually replied to your email just before I read your posting. The photo you sent me of Moston Juniors was the same one you sent me last year and it is already on the site.
And yes, I would like the other photo of the Salford school and I will upload it when I have the time.
Alan

Hi Joe,
Yes, it would be best to get Migky's email address and send them direct. That is better for me time wise.
Cheers,

Hi I am a new member and have just sent a couple of photos of classes at Seymour Road school starting 1954 and I hope to send the others up to 1958 also the football team of 1958 with captain Johnny Aston hmm only 10 years later he helped the reds make the greatest day in Matt Busby's life. Are there any further notes about shutting the school?
Hope I'm on the right forum and yes I am a Clayton Lad lived on Bristowe street for first 24 years.

Hi Zorro, The school has been reprieved, for the time being. Its such a lovely building it seems such a shame to pull it down and put a monstrosity in its place.
