Hi Everyone,
I seemed to have created quite fuss with this Karma. It's ironic, don't you think, given it's name?
Anyway, I had no intention in causing any problems, quit the opposite in fact, I just wanted to introduce something new for you all. Perhaps I should just disable this feature, what do all think?
The intention was not to use Karma just for the Chat-Board but for all boards. The way I see it is, a voting system to vote if you want to, and you don't have, so that if you find a helpful or good post, like the ones Lisa helps people with, you could vote Exalt. Or, if it is a boring post you could vote smite.
It is not intended to vote against members because you like them or not. It is only to reflect the writing in the post.
Anyone not seeing certain things on their page that others see will usually because they need to refresh their page. To do this, you usually have to go to the top of their browser page, next to the address bar where you will see an icon with two little arrows facing in opposite directions. Click on this and this should do it. The icon may be different for different people depending on what system and browser they are using.
Hope this helps. Please give me some feedback about Karma
Alan

Hi Chris,
I think a smite must take part of your karma away so you have less points.
What does everyone think of this Karma? Do you like it or shall I get rid of it?

Alan - I remember one posting a while ago by either you or Lisa R - in it the words said "If something isn't broken then don't fix it!" Just a thought?? P.S. I have a minus 2 and yet I only did one smite - just to see what would happen.

Hi Robert
I don't think I like the Karma idea. By the way people are acting I don't think they either like or want to use it. You say it is the posting they put on we are voting for ,but it still could offend people , if its not something they like, they will just not put a reply to it,if its something they like ,they reply to the post. I think thats the best way to do it,I don't know how the rest of the people on site think, but thats what I think. You did say you wanted feed back and I have only just had a good look at the postings and everybody seems to be ignoring the Karma.

Hi Everyone,
And thanks to Babs and Mo with the feedback. I take both points. Babs I think you are right, it is getting a negative feedback. And Mo, yes we both did make that quote. However, although it is, "not broke," I thought perhaps this may bring a bit of interest. It doesn't need to be permanent.
I have tried many things in the past (including introducing this forum) that most people on the site don't even know about. And, of course I have had to get rid. But one must always try and "improve" and to make things better.
I think I have even managed to upset Lisa with this one as I forgot to tell her first. She hasn't been on I don't think since I started the Karma thing on Friday. She has a valid point though, I should have informed her first. I introduced it on the spur of the moment when I was actually trying to do something else at the time. Also, given that I am used to doing everything myself, in my own spare time, at home, it slipped my mind that I now have a partner that helps me.
I do hope Lisa is not ill or anything like that? Perhaps she is busy with work?
Well, a bit more feedback should bring us to the right decision, in the fullness of time.

Thanks to BABS, CHRIS, LITTLE MO, JOHNNY, MARIE et all who voiced their opinions on the Karma v. Karma, and thanks for all your support. We dont need votes to state what we all think about each other, or appreciate each others postings, whether controversial or not. It just goes to show how fondly we all look on our chatline and just what fantastic people you all are. Thanks once again.........

For what it's worth I'm with the others. Remember the galloping major? If missunderstood the karma thing could revive some of that idiots thinking, best left alone. Mo is right if you don't like it don't respond, but you know I think we are friends enough to agree to disagree if the case arises, so far there have been one or two posts that have not been blanket approved so to speak and there has been no adverse effect on the forum.
