I would like to contact Jacky Barrow and Janet D I C K I N S O N, We worked together in 1979 at Methodist International in Manchester when we worked for Catering By County. Janet was in charge of the Kitchen. I moved to Surrey in January 1980 and we lost touch. About 1982/3 Janet joined the Probation service and Jacky went to Australia. I have lost all my old diary's and address books in a house move. I can not remember where anyone lived. I have put a post on missing and M.E.N. I have tried Genes re and Friends re, not listed. I think Janet will be between 49-53 now and Jacky 48/49. I will be 50 in Feb 09 and it would be great to celebrate with my 2 pals.

Thanks, I have tried to look her up in the old phone books on Ancestry.com. I know she use to phone me at home. I wish I could remember her parents names and where they lived. I am coming to Manchester in the summer and will go to the library to look at electoral roll and anything else that could help me.

Electoral roll is the one they would be on but you can only search it bye street names and then look at all people who were of age to vote who lived in that street. they are on film at the library. do you know when any of them died and were they buried in Phillip's park? i could look at there records for you and if we lucky and find one of them it will give there address at the time of death

I am really at a loss of how to find Janet, not knowing her birth area is a pain, but I like a challenge. I started to think of Janet and Jacky because I will be 50 next year and thought it would be great just to catch up. I hope my letter in the M.E.N. is printed someone might remember her. I need to speak to someone who worked in the probation service around 1981/82 as they might remember working with her. Actually Janet is such a laugh someone must remember her.

Hi Stitcher......If you've already put an ad in the In Touch column of the M.E.N. then it should produce results. On the two occasions I have advertised it has always produced fantastic results. So, as you say, someone somewhere will know where she is. When I put my ad in, I'd almost given up hearing from them, then suddenly one Saturday lunchtime my phone started ringing and it never stopped with people answering my ad about lost schoolfriends. So, be patient, and I'm sure you'll hear something.....

Stitcher, If you look at the Forum Rules you will see some of the obscure words that we cannot use on the site. Its an American facility and words like S P O O N and D I C K or B I T CH come out coded.....dont ask me why - Its American, say no more I often forget myself and type in a word and it comes out all scrambled. Thanks Lisa, I noticed Janets surname was coming out wrong so re done post
