Anyone out there remember TOMMY DUCKS pub? I think it was on Whitworth Street. They used to put donated KNICKERS up on the ceiling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a talking point (I reckon they must've been donated by Tom Jones LOL). On a different subject I have a list of names I am looking to either contact or get info on OR to receive a nudge in the right direction:- Graham Warhurst, Joe Warhurst, (Gorton, Chorlton or Stretford area). Kevin Holden's family OR friends - anywhere in the Manchester area. Before you ask, yes I have put details on FRIENDS REUNITED and M.E.N. online and STRETFORD & URMSTON JOURNAL. By the by - if ever you want to see more photos of me and mine I can be found on FRIENDS REUNITED under "Maureen McNamee" - I will expect some good comments after you've visited!

my older brother took me in there when I was about 15 . I was mesmerized by all the different types. I'd only seen bottle green and blue prior to that .

To Ukecadet - yes, I was only young too when I was taken to Tommy Ducks (for a minute there I just typed "I was only young when I was taken" - thank goodness I re-read it! LOL) but, being female, I did know there were other sorts. I hated the navy and green "knickers" - me and my sisters preferred navy so it was a "race" each morning to see who got up the earliest and got to wear the "better" pair of knickers!! Glad to see young girls these days not needing to go through this! I think boys were more aware of knickers because us girls always did handstands in the playground. I don't know if girls would be ALLOWED to do handstands these days - either it would be considered inappropriate behaviour OR dangerous to their health?

You're right - girls don't seem to blush at all these days! I don't think I ever stopped - I once dated a sailor and he took me to see "Felix the Cat" - it was only part way through and I walked out of the cinema - I was so disgusted by the film at that time and, of course, embarrassed!
