I used to go to the Chez Joey in Manchester in the late 1950s. Tony Hume was the singer and Eddy Warburton played trombone. Anyone remember it ? I live in the U.S now and have done for many years but often think of those times.

Hi Steve, I dont remember the Chez Joey but I used to go to the Manchester Sports Guild (MSG) on New Millgate which had a jazz club and a folk club. We used to meet friends there every weekend where the ladies sat drinking Snowballs while the men played on the football game table.

Lisa my sister use to go to them I was more into hanging around Coffee bar with my motorbike mates as the Twisted Wheel was more the Mods place to hang out. But use to go down there on the odd occasion. I also like the statement under your picture my music is Stones ,Beatles, Moody Blues, Led Zepplin, Hawkwind, Motorhead , Queen. That's just a few so what is that saying about the texture of my soul?

Hi John, Its saying that your soul rocks I like middle of the road music now like the BeeGees and Abba(ouch). In my young days I loved the Beatles, the Stones, TamlaMotown, the Drifters and most of the bands from Liverpool. I loved the Twisted Wheel and like the gloomy atmosphere and dark corners where I could sneak a craft cuddle . I went to most of the clubs in the 60's and even saw my first strip show at the Cabaret Club (much to my horror) being such a pure little innocent as I was
