by way of a change i thought i would start a new thread to see what the majority of people feel about the new tram system about to start through droylsden and district , like it or hate it that's the question.

The Metro is digging up all over my area and it wont be finished until 2016. It runs to Manchester Airport and so many mature trees have been cut down to make way for the trams. It will be great to get into Manchester City centre once its finished but I wonder if its a price worth paying when I see the felled trees and destruction to the environment. I doubt whether I will use the trams often so it will be of no use to me.

They say that what goes around comes around,I used the use the tram from Edge Lane to Manchester every day don't ask me how long ago!!!..I will probably use it to get to Droylsden Cemetry where my parents and others of my familey are buried.Living in Romiley it will be good for me but I shudder to think of the cost and whether it will be worth it.

The tram is only to serve Ashton Under Lyne, for the council nothing else matters. Since Tameside took control every other town's like Stalybridge, Droylsden, and Hyde have been neglected. Today, I market is onle a pale shadow of what it once was.
