Can anyone tell me the name of the pub on Hyde rd near the Bus Depot that had associations with Man City

In its later years it was called The City Gates,and at one time,George Heslop,the ex-City player was landlord. It fell into disuse for a period and I think it is no longer there.

;)Also,forgot to mention in my earlier post,City played at Hyde Road/Bennett street until 1925 til they moved to Maine Road.I lived at Bennett Street flats in the late forties,and I belive they were built on top of the old playing pitch.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the pub that you are referring to used to be called The Bulls Head. It was half way between the bus depot and Bennett St. on the same side.

I think you are right Cabbyjohn it was called the Bulls head but bluesawayday is also correct because I used to pass it daily but forgot it's name when they demolished it. Many thanks for your comments
