looking for friends and family of my dad, David wood from Wigley St ardwick, especially Jim Crooks, dad went to nicholls school born in 1937, Dave worked at Esso top of mathew st and boxed for openshaw lads club , married my Mum Beryl Gunby in 1959
Dads family were the kids of Henry and Mariah (walpole) Wood. I need to find his family and friends, He is in folkestone I am in Ontario Canada but was born in Ardwick, miss Manchester like mad. please help. Debbie

Hello Debbie, sorry i cant give you any news about your dads friend but i remember your gran Vera Wood she was a dinner lady at nicholls ardwick, iremember you coming in to see your gran now and then, i think Wigley st is still standing . Your gran was really proud of you, didnt you win a lot of money one time on the pools? . Tell me if you think i am nosy lol,try the Manchester Evening News in the lost touch column ,i wish you luck Debbie and best wishes.

Hi Marjorie, we lost my nan in december 2008, she was 91. she had just spent a month in canada with me and my family, do you live in gorton still, i was there last year and wigley st is no longer there the only thing still standing is st benedicts school. my ex husband won some money on the pools back in 1987, many years ago, I re married and came to cananda with my kids it is wonderful here, nice to talk to you,
