My grandad used to say 'Where do the flies go in winter? Answer - Through Denton to Hyde'
When asking my mother where we were going on holiday she would reply 'Ourgate and back'

And the classic 'Net curtains at the window and margerine on the table' and another from my gran was if someone asked if he/she like something she would say ' Does a donkey like strawberries'

My gran used to reply to the question "Where do flies go in Winter?" with "Into Eccles to make cakes" My grandad used to say 'Where do the flies go in winter? Answer - Through Denton to Hyde' When asking my mother where we were going on holiday she would reply 'Ourgate and back'
