Brain Injuries The claimant, a 48-year-old woman, received £475,000 for the severe brain injuries sustained in a road traffic accident. The claimant suffered from significant cognitive and behavioural difficulties, impaired sense of smell and taste, a complete loss of hearing in her right ear, mild loss of hearing in her left ear and moderate tinnitus. Future care was required. Out of Court Settlement 25/4/2003

Fatal accident The claimant, a 45-year-old man, was awarded £446,084 for the loss of dependency suffered as a result of his wife's death in a road traffic accident on 1 December 1991. The claimant suffered from MS and his wife had cared care for him prior to the accident.
